DE Ein Beispiel für effektives Verwerten von ungenutzten Ressourcen ist diese Materialstudie: Große Mengen an Christbäumen und Laub aus dem Stadtraum werden meist in Müllverbrennungsanlagen entsorgt. In diesem Projekt wurde ein offenporiger Verbundstoff aus Herbstlaub gewonnen, dem Zellstoff aus Tannenbäumen zugegeben wurde. Das ohne Klebstoff entstandene Material erinnert an eine Mischung aus Leder, Pappe und Kork. Akustikpaneele wurden daraus schon gefertigt; andere Anwendungen sind denkbar.    

EN This material study provides an example of the effective recycling of unused resources. Large quantities of Christmas trees and fallen leaves swept up in urban areas are usually disposed of in garbage incinerators. In this project, however, pulp from fir trees was added to leaves to produce an open-pored composite material. The material is made without glue and resembles a blend of leather, cardboard, and cork. It has already been used to make acoustic panels, and other applications are also conceivable.
